Event Description

The Cape Town Festival of Running day 1 events take place at Sea Point Promenade, all day 1 events take place on a 5km circuit. Events: 100km Ultra, 50km Mini Ultra & 5 x 5km Team Relay.

The 100km Ultra is the ultimate test of mental and physical endurance. This race, and its unique loop format has built up quite a following over the years. Those runners who aren’t yet ready to commit to 100km of running are invited to enter the 50km Mini Ultra instead.

Qualifier

The Ultra’s are qualifying events for the Two Oceans Marathon

The 5 x 5km Relay is a fun way for families, friends and businesses to challenge yourselves and each other. All it takes is five runners in a team to each run a 5km loop. Who will be the fastest team on the day?

Distance & Entry Fee:

100km Ultra – R325

50km Mini Ultra – R275

R250 for 5×5 Relay Team (Adults) / R150* for 5×5 Relay Team (Juniors) including timing

Temp licence: R60*

Race Timing: R120* for RaceTec chip (if you do not have one)

Venue: Sea Point Promenade, Cape Town

Start Time: 100km Ultra & 50km Mini Ultra- 7am , 5 x 5km Relay – 2pm

LATE ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED SUBJECT TO THE CONDITION THAT APPLICANTS WILL ONLY GET THEIR FINISHERS MEDAL AND TSHIRT 10 DAYS AFTER THE EVENT.

 NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE!

From the start the on the Sea Point Promenade, runners are treated to beautiful coastal views as they make their way towards the Sea Point Swimming Pool, then looping back towards the Lighthouse, where they turn to complete the loop at the Promenade.

This scenic 5km loop is completed a total of 20 times to make up the 100km Ultra Marathon distance.

Medals for all finishers!

From the start the on the Sea Point Promenade, runners are treated to beautiful coastal views as they make their way towards the Sea Point Swimming Pool, then looping back towards the Lighthouse, where they turn to complete the loop at the Promenade.

Unlike the 100km distance, runners of the 50km Mini Ultra will complete the loop a total of 10 times.

This scenic 5km loop is completed a total of 5 times by 5 different team members to make up the 25km relay distance.
