Event Description

The SPAR Women’s 10km race is a women’s only running event that takes place on the 23rd of June 2019, from Jonsson Kings Park Stadium (Durban). The event includes a 10km run/walk & 5km fun run.

Entrants must collect their race Bibs, T-shirts and Promo Bags from Hall 6, Durban Exhibition Centre, off Walnut Road.

Registration Parking:
Limited parking will be available on the South Plaza, accessed via Samora Machel Street on Thursday and Friday only. No parking on South Plaza on Saturday. Underground Parking is available at the ICC (Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre) accessed via Bram Fischer Road.

All entrants will receive a T-shirt and Promo Bag. Only 15,000 T-shirts and Promo Bags will be produced. T-shirts are ONE-SIZE-FITS-MOST.

Rights Reserved:
Any irregularities in your entry form will result in your entry being returned to you. In the event that a returned entry is resubmitted after the 15,000 cut off number has been reached that entry will not be accepted. An administration charge of R120 may be levied on incomplete entry forms received. Right of entry is reserved.

Acknowledgement Of  Entries:

the race management system.

ASA Rule 28.5 – IAAF Rule 125 makes provision for a Race Referee to warn an athlete by showing a yellow card and exclusion by showing a red card; He (she) shall have authority to warn or exclude from competition, any athlete guilty of acting in an unsporting or improper manner or under Rule 162.5. Warnings may be indicated to the athlete by showing a yellow card, exclusion by showing a red card. Warnings and exclusions shall be entered on the result card and communicated to the Competition Secretary and to the other Referees.

Finishers: All finishers will receive a FREE breakfast pack. Please note that NO MEDALS WILL BE AWARDED.

Male Supporters:
This is a women’s event. Males who enter are NOT eligible for the position or lucky draw prizes. Males will receive no seeding preference and will not be permitted to finish within the top 20 positions.

Official  Charity:
R2 of each entry will go to CANSA Mkhuhla Care Home. Located in Durban, CANSA Mkhuhla Care Home is a homeaway-from-home to cancer patients receiving cancer treatment far away from their own homes.

Kids Zone: There will be NO Kids Zone at the finish. It is your responsibility to look after your children.

Prize Giving:
The 10km prize-giving is scheduled to begin at 10:00. Age Category tags MUST be worn clearly on the front and back of your vest in order to qualify for age category prizes. These are available from your athletics club or from KwaZulu-Natal Athletics on 031 312 9374.

An appeal to the Jury of Appeal must be made within 30 minutes of the official announcement of the decision made by the Referee, in writing, signed by the athlete or a responsible official on behalf of the athlete, and shall be accompanied by a deposit of R500, which will be forfeited if the appeal is not upheld.

NOTE: Entrants who provide incorrect or incomplete information on their entry forms, whether electronically or written, will not qualify for any gender or age category prizes.

Lucky Draw  Prizes:
All female finishers of both the 10km and Fun Run/Walk who are present at Jonsson Kings Park Stadium outer fields on completion of the event will qualify for lucky draw prizes. Men are NOT eligible for lucky draw prizes.

* The lucky draw prizes are due to be drawn after the final prize-giving on race day.

Online payments via credit card must be received on or before Monday, 17 June 2019.

EFT – An option is also available for EFT payments.

Online payments via EFT close on Monday, 10 June 2019.
