Event Description

The Foskor Open Pit Half Marathon takes place on the 12th of October 2019, starting from Foskor Moshate Parking Area (Phalaborwa). Distance options: 5km, 10km & 21.1km.

This is one of the most unique races in South Africa. The race starts at the bottom of the Foskor Open Pit with a tough three kilometre climb out of the pit. For the rest, the race is moderately undulating as it skirts the north-west side of Phalaborwa and heads to the finish.

How to Enter?

Entries open at the beginning of September and are accepted until two days before the event when buses are booked to transport runners to the start. Race registration and boarding of buses will be done at the PRRC Clubhouse. Some late entries may be accepted at the start depending on bus space.
